The Audition Process
At Quincy Music Theatre, the audition process typically begins with an initial audition, where performers present a prepared song or monologue, often with a provided accompaniment or script excerpt. After the initial round, some performers may be invited to attend call-backs. It is important to note that not receiving an invitation to call-backs does not necessarily mean you haven’t been cast in the show.
During call-backs, participants may be asked to read scenes, perform additional songs or engage in dance/movement auditions to assess their fit for specific roles. After the call-back process, the production team reviews all audition information and selects the final cast. All participants will be notified whether they’ve been cast, and the selected performers will begin rehearsals soon after.
Getting to the Theatre
Most auditions and call-backs will be held at the Quincy Music Theatre, located in downtown Quincy, Florida at 118 E Washington Street. Make sure to review your audition packet closely to confirm audition locations and times.
